What is my advice

In the ever-evolving landscape of Information Technology, choosing the right platform to launch your career is the equivalent of picking the right colors for your superhero costume – it defines your identity, how people see you, and sets the stage for your heroic journey. OutSystems isn’t just a company or product; it’s a tech revolution on wheels. The company is redefining how software is built, deployed, and scaled. In a world where staying ahead of the tech curve is the key to success, OutSystems is the vehicle you want to be on board.

OutSystems stands out as the go-to tool in the ever-evolving landscape of application development, and its allure lies in a perfect blend of innovation, efficiency, and accessibility. At its core, OutSystems is a low-code development platform, making it a beacon for both seasoned developers and newcomers to the coding scene. Although, if you want to specialize, there are multiple learning opportunities to explore. You see from certifications that you can be working as Developer (Traditional, ODC, or Reactive that even spans to a specialization on Mobile) Delivery, Front-End, Security, Architecture, Trainer or doing Sales. And even without certificates, you can dive into JavaScript, or libraries and expand what OutSystems can do. It is a gateway to multiple words of IT.

Personally

No matter how good the product is, the most important part is the people you work with. Being part of OutSystems is like joining a tech carnival where ideas, solutions, and insights are exchanged like confetti. 

The OutSystems Community is not just a passive backdrop to the platform; it’s a dynamic force that elevates the OutSystems experience from a solitary coding endeavor to a collective and collaborative journey. This community acts as an invaluable resource, akin to having a team of mentors, collaborators, and problem-solvers right at your fingertips.

Imagine diving into the expansive OutSystems universe and finding a vibrant marketplace of ideas, solutions, and shared experiences. The community is a bustling marketplace where developers, architects, and enthusiasts converge to exchange insights, troubleshoot challenges, and celebrate victories. It’s not merely a support forum; it’s a digital agora where knowledge flows freely, and everyone has a voice.

For developers navigating the intricacies of OutSystems, the community becomes a compass. It’s a place where rookies find guidance and seasoned professionals discover new tricks. Whether you’re stuck on a coding quirk or seeking innovative ways to enhance your applications, the community is your go-to oracle. It’s like having an entire team of colleagues working alongside you, providing diverse perspectives and accelerating your learning curve.

I have a big responsibility as organizer of User Groups. OutSystems User Groups are communities of OutSystems users who come together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and collaborate on various aspects of the OutSystems platform. These user groups play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community, providing networking opportunities, and promoting continuous learning. They are the glue that keep us together.

I also have responsibility for bringing new people to technology. As a trainer, one could say I pick who gets to enter the community! Besides the technical skills, I lead by example and prepare them to be valuable members of the community.

And finally, I am the proof that an OutSystems developer is not a one-trick pony, as I got all the certifications. Like Daniël Kuhlmann once said “To understand the effort they need to put into their learning path and professional growth, I try to be the first and do every OutSystems certification, as it comes available”. I do it to promote myself, my students, and I hope this inspires others to study and to get certified. To keep on learning and always challenging themselves.
